Missouri SHARP Association

Sharp association

The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Labor Department) works to ensure businesses and employees succeed together in safe and healthy workplaces. The Labor Department works toward that goal through its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP), which is administered by the On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program of the Department's Division of Labor Standards. Since 1992, SHARP has assisted 79 employers create safer and healthier workplaces for their employees.

On Dec. 10, 2008, the On-Site Safety and Health Consultation Program assisted current SHARP employers in establishing a SHARP Association. The association was created after receiving a unanimous vote in favor of its formation by current SHARP employers.

The goals of the SHARP Association in the state of Missouri are to enable current SHARP employers to mentor each other and strengthen their current programs by making their workplaces an even safer environment for employees. The SHARP Association, in conjunction with the Missouri On-Site Consultation Program, also will encourage and assist potential SHARP employers in achieving SHARP status.

For additional information about participating in SHARP, visit the On-Site Safety and Health Consultation page or contact Daniel Stark, program manager, at 573-751-3403 or via email at daniel.stark@labor.mo.gov.
