About the Human Rights Commission

The mission of the Missouri Commission on Human Rights is to develop, recommend, and implement ways to prevent and eliminate discrimination and to provide fair and timely resolutions of discrimination claims through enforcement of the Missouri Human Rights Act. The Commission investigates complaints of discrimination in housing, employment, and places of public accommodations based on race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, sex, disability, age (in employment only), and familial status (in housing only).

About the Executive Director

Dr. Alisa Warren - Executive Director of the Missouri Commission on Human Rights

Dr. Alisa Warren was appointed as the Executive Director for the Missouri Commission on Human Rights in 2008. She has dedicated a career to building networks between government, business, and community groups to encourage productive partnerships. Her previous public service includes leadership roles with the Office of Administration - Director for the Office of Equal Opportunity, the Department of Economic Development - Executive Director for the Community Service Commission, and the University of Missouri College of Engineering - Director of Diversity. Dr. Warren holds a B.S. in Human Environmental Sciences, Master’s in Public Administration, and a Ph.D. in Applied Social Sciences in Community Development and Social Disparities all from the University of Missouri.
